SVC Tamariki Protection Policy

Hi Parents,

Shore Vineyard Church recognises our obligation to provide a safe environment for Tamariki (children and young persons) in our care, and therefore all staff and child and youth workers agree to abide by our Tamariki protection policy and procedures. As part of these procedures, our Tamariki workers are expected to:

  • Have read, understood and agreed to abide by our protection policy and procedures

  • Be approved by staff through police vetting and reference checks

  • Understand the appropriate actions to take in the event of an emergency

  • Take all practical steps to ensure the physical and emotional safety of Tamariki

  • Report any suspected abuse or misconduct to the Senior Pastor

You can ask any staff member to provide you with the full documentation of our Tamariki protection procedures.

You can help us ensure the safety of your children by:

  • Signing your child(ren) into the programme

  • Signing your child(ren) out of the programme (if primary school age) – we cannot release children unless they have been collected by the appropriate guardian / parent

  • Providing us with a current mobile number so we can contact you during the service if required

  • Advising us of any medical condition your children may have, including allergies

  • Advising us of any behavioural issues to be aware of

  • Understanding if we need to bring your child back to you on account of behaviour

  • Supervising your children before and after the children’s programme regarding safe behaviour such as walking inside and particular attention around exit doors.

Our goal is to provide safe practices for our staff and child and youth workers to follow, and a safe environment for Tamariki to play and learn. Thanks for being a part of keeping your kids safe at Shore Vineyard Church!
